Let’s face it: The NFT space moves really fast. Considering how quickly things can change in the metaverse, a week in NFTs might as well be a month IRL.
Don’t get us wrong — the more people onboarded into the space, the merrier. But because of the constant influx of great art and ideas, it’s becoming increasingly difficult to keep up with all the news, launches, and general happenings.
Well, you can put the days of endless Twitter and Discord scrolling behind you, as we put together a weekly list of upcoming NFT drops you definitely don’t want to miss. Here’s what to look out for this week.
What: Digital renditions of three iconic Le Mans cars
When: May 30 @ 11 a.m. EDT
Why: Pro racing fans hoping to expand their collection of autosports memorabilia into the digital realm are in luck. Motorsports publication and memorabilia marketplace Automobilist is dropping its second NFT collection later today. It’s a collaboration with the legendary “24 Hours of Le Mans” endurance racing event and is set to feature some of the most iconic cars in the event’s 99-year history.
What: Collection featuring art ranging from portraits to landscapes
When: May 31 @ 6:30 a.m. EDT
Why: Six prominent figures within the crypto art community have come together to create a heartfelt collection depicting the pain of unrequited love. This marks the culmination of over a year’s worth of work and sees the artists blending together their unique styles to communicate a cohesive story. Love has always been one of the most potent muses for any artist, so this collection sees these artists drawing from one of the rawest parts of the human experience.
What: Two photographs of the Caldor and Dixie Fires
When: June 1 @ 6:30 a.m. EDT
Why: Following a 20-year career covering warzones all around the world, Pulitzer Prize-winning photojournalist Lynsey Addario is pointing her lens at a new issue for her upcoming NFT debut: climate change. The subjects of this drop are set to be the frontlines of the Caldor and Dixie Fires, two of the many areas ravaged by the 2021 California wildfires. Through this drop, Addario hopes to raise more awareness of the extreme effects of climate change, as well as raise funds to support the families of the firefighters that braved these flames.
What: Collection mechanics TBA
When: June 2 @ 1 a.m. EDT
